Geiersthal - Felburg - Gumpenried - Altnußberg - Geiersthal

This hiking tour also leads from the church in ‚Geierstahl’ (description of the church please see hiking tour no. 1) via the streets ‘Kirchenstraße’ and ‘Felburger Straße’ to the place ‘Felburg’. |

From there you get to the romantic forest chapel ‘Steinzen’ (description of the chapel please see hiking tour no. 1). |

The hiking path leads on to the place ‘Holzwies’ and through the ‘Gumpenrieder Forst’ (past the former forester’s lodge) to the weir in ‘Gumpenried. There a hydroelectric power plant produces electricity. From ‚Gumpenried’ this forestry road runs along the river ‚Regen’ with its white water rapids. The ‘Regen’ flows very quickly at this point, it narrows from approx. 60 m to 18-20 m and has a strong slope. At normal water level it has got ‘white water level 3’. |

The path leads on in the direction of ‘Altnußberg’, at the chapel ‘Hofbeikapelle’ you have the opportunity for a side-trip to the castle grounds of ‘Altnußberg’ (description please see hiking tour no. 1). |

Through the forest you will return to ‘Geiersthal’ |
