Castle grounds Altnußberg
It’s the largest and oldest castle grounds of the Bavarian Forest. The relics of the twin castle, built in the 12th century, have been excavated since 1983 and have been reconstructed partially. Guided tours through the castle grounds and the attached castle museum are offered on Thursdays at 4 pm from June to October.

Castle ruine Linden
Built in the 12th century. The castle ruin is privately owned, though it can be visited from the outside. In Linden there was in the 16th century the only wheat beer brewery of the Bavarian Forest.

Church in Geiersthal
In Geiersthal there was the church of the ancient parish Geiersthal, first mentioned in a document in 1209. Only the choir of the late Gothic building is preserved. The door of the sacristy dates from 14th century.

Forest Chapel Steinzen
The edification of this chapel is based on a vow in the 18th century. The Way of the Cross leads to this chapel with verre églomisé pictures.

Castle ruine Kollnburg
The castle Kollnburg was first mentioned in the year 1153. Since 1835 the castle tower has been owned privately. Nowadays the castle and its preserved castle tower (11 m) and castle well (17,5 m) are a popular destination of excursions and offers a splendid panorama view to the highest peaks of the Bavarian Forest.

Castle ruine Neunußberg
Medieval castle tower, relics of the rampart with tower, chapel (1353) Here the ‘Castle Festival Neunußberg’ is being performed by end of July/beginning of August.

Castle ruine Weißenstein
The castle was built around the year 1100. Nowadays the castle tower has become a viewing tower, and there is a small museum of local history in the building ‘Fressendes Haus’, in which the poet Siegfried von Vegesack lived.

Mansion Egg near Deggendorf
Medieval castle grounds, first mentioned around 1103. Originally being a moated castle it was restored in neo-Gothic style in 19th century.
